Buying a Home Step Six: Closing Escrow

Welcome to Clayton Connolly's Homeschool 101 where we talk about the basics of buying a home in 60 seconds or less.

Step 6 closing escrow.

Now that we've gone through our whole escrow period, landing the ship looks like this. A couple days prior to closing, we do a final walkthrough just to make sure the home is in expected condition.

You'll also be signing loan documents, unless you're paying cash. And that will get put into action, too, within the last couple days. Finally, the county recorder takes their stamp and stamps it and now you are the proud owner of your new place. We meet up, I give you the keys.

We take some photos. We smile, we sing, we rock out, and say, "Congratulations, well done." We started off with a plan and there you are today in your dream home. Thank you very much.
