Koby Blankson talks about his process when looking for the right real estate team. His search lead him to Whissel Realty Group, where he feels he gets the support and training he was looking for. Setting him up to thrive in real estate and achieve his goals.

What is the Onboarding Process is Like at Whissel Realty

Hey, I'm Koby Blankson said Whissel Realty Group. I basically kind of scoured the internet. I talked to some real estate agent friends. Everyone was just like you know what? You want to join a team that's very supportive, maybe have like a mentoring kind of program and just get in a place where, you know, you don't have to worry necessarily about the splits but about getting the quality experience.

So before real estate, I came out here, went to school. After that, I got into coaching football with kids, high school kids. Then I started working with adults with disabilities, really fulfilling, just working in-home until I got to the point where I was managing teams of other staff that were working in homes and just, you know, I can't really call it. It's just something that drove me, you know, just really helpful, doing what I can do. Well, the transition from that to real estate had more to do with a little bit more being able to manage my time. There wasn't really much downtime. You're dealing with adults with disabilities and like anything can happen.

You're working with teams of staff that like had their own lives. Things happen. People need to get covered shifts, things like that. And it just really, it was really high stress. And I wanted to do something that could still help people but at the same time I could turn off and I could enjoy time with friends and family. So my experience with, you know, being interviewed and onboarded with the Whissel Realty Group has been pretty seamless. It's kind of cutting edge, interviewed doing like a video format, one-way video answering questions, really kind of capturing what I bring to the table, trying to capture what my personality was like. Then when I was chosen and they wanted to bring me in, a three-week training program with five other potential agents. And it was pretty hands-on. Other real estate agents were leading workshops and really got a chance to get an inside view of what real estate could mean and what it is for real estate agents in San Diego. My goals for real estate or a, you know, I absolutely want to establish wealth for myself.

I want to begin a portfolio, get some passive income. But I also want to introduce that to other people, you know, friends and family that are looking for different ways to like diversify their income and just, you know, just really just grow in real estate. So get my first house here and then move on to maybe getting a duplex and renting that out and just trying to build wealth. Whissel Realty Group is more than just a realty group. It's got that family feel. A lot of events. A lot of opportunities to network. Just a lot of chances to kind of let your guard down and just enjoy yourself but at the same time gain experience and it's just I think it's a family environment.
