I’ve intended to write this review since I closed on my house in late November 2022. To say that I like to procrastinate is putting it mildly. That can’t be said of my fantastic realtor, Steve Lucal and the wonderful team at Whissel Realty Group.From the outset the idea of buying a home in San Diego where I’ve lived for 20 years was frightening. I had been married for 34 years, was now divorced and worried about trying to buy. Steve was professional, patient and the voice of reason during my struggle to convince myself that I could and should buy a home.Steve worked with me from May of 2021 until and after I closed in November 2022. It was me that put the brakes on multiple times. Steve never hesitated to let me know that it was ok to be nervous but would then point out, with facts why it would be good to purchase. He learned from our first conversation what I was looking from and never wasted my time or his by showing me houses either out of my preferred area, price or style.He would call to check in a few weeks after I’d told him I was done looking. Never to pressure me, just to say hi, ask about my dogs and chat about his family. He called my one day and spoke to me about interest rates, house prices rising, falling and so on. But what got to me and made me think for the first time, really think was when he said that I needed to have a home. There were some personal issues that I had told him about and speaking with him I realized that he knew me almost better than myself. Gabby Gonzalez and Erick were amazing. I was very picky with the type of property I wanted, so the process took a couple months. I purchased a home in Scripps Ranch Poway area and had a good experience working with J.C. Agajanian. I found the property while browsing listings but J.C. was still really helpful. I bought my condo in clairemont from JC Agajanian. He staged condo beautifully and did excellent job working with my realtor to get condo sold at best price for his client (the seller) and me.
Working with JC and Spencer was excellent. We had a bump or two but recovered well. Spencer did the day to day and JC helped with the bumps. Both are confident and know their business well. We did a deal that dealt with HomeLife that allowed us to move faster than selling and then buying the new house we had found. It all worked like clockwork! We even managed to close a few days early.

There was a 9 hour time difference but Angela and Jennifer worked around the time difference with ease. They both did virtual and video showings for us. They gave us both the good features and the needed improvements for each property. They helped us prepare well presented offers and stayed in touch with the seller's agents regularly. Once we had an accepted offer, the ladies did a great job of keeping us informed about each step in the escrow process. They stayed in touch with the lender and the other parties involved while keeping us informed the entire time. My boyfriend was able to close on his condo a little over a week of arriving in San Diego. These ladies went the extra mile and even helped him move in. These ladies were great to work with and made the buying process a lot less stressful. We would definitely recommend Angela and Jennifer to anyone moving to San Diego.

This is the follow up review to Karlee VanDyke helping me find a house after she already got me an amazing price for my old home.
Been in my new home now for almost a month and yes I am still unpacking but the place is great and I was lucky to get it with all the competition out there. Just wanted to give another shout out of THANK YOU!!! to my Realtor Karlee VanDyke and Andrea Fasulo for landing me this great house. I believe the Sellers received at least 15 offers, may have been 18, not 100% sure but Karlee was able to negotiate a win for me in getting the house. Even before I put in an offer, I asked her what my offer should be and the advice I got was spot on. The number was even a little lower than what I thought I should offer but I am going to listen to the expert that fully understands the market and guess what I got the winning bid first try! Then their were some inspection bumps in the road but she also got me through those with a nice size credit negotiated to cancel out any issues I needed to deal with. So from start to finish (Selling of my old home to buying of my new home) I had a great experience and so will you if you pick this realtor!

From our first meeting at the initial property, she was so friendly and helpful and ready to work for my family and I at our pace. She was not pushy and provided very sound and realistic advice. The property she initially showed us we ended up not being interested in. However, I continued to reach out to Kiki to see if she could help us see other properties that came up on Zillow. The following weekend I asked her to see 4 properties. Kiki spent her entire Saturday with us and not once did I ever get the sense that it was too much for her. She was extremely supportive and answered all of our questions. We ended up deciding to make an offer on one of the properties we saw that day and once we gave her that green light, she did not stop. She was on it and was always in constant communication. I truly believe she was always looking out for our best interest, which is not always the case in the real estate market. Long story short, our offer was accepted, we closed escrow and are moving this weekend! I couldn't be happier with the work Kiki and everyone on her team did for my family and I. I'm extremely happy to have met Kristina many years ago. It was an open house I was just curious about with no real intention of buying. I dropped off the radar for years because I was not ready to buy a home but Kristina stayed in touch and was persistent with her outreach. I was introduced to Steve by my financial advisor, who are both part of the ProVisors network. Steve was a pleasure to work with. His knowledge and experience were extremely beneficial to me as a first time home buyer, unfamiliar with many aspects of the purchasing process. We were in escrow twice, the second resulted in owning the home I'm writing this review from. During the first, foundation issues were found during the discovery phase. He and his associate, Zesty, were instrumental in aiding my decision making, which was ultimately lead to walking away. It's said that "where interest lies, honor dies," but that is clearly not the case with Steve and Zesty. Steve was very responsive each time I wanted to look at a home, which is a critical quality given the state of the market during the pandemic. He's also constantly trying to work out an edge that gives his client an advantage over other buyers. The home I purchased was being tented when we looked at it, only a day or so after hitting the market. Before chemicals were deployed, Steve convinced the fumigators to let us in to look inside. This meant we were one of only a few groups not bidding on the home sight-unseen. I think this is the reason we were not outbid. With that said, I highly recommend this team. Thanks again guys.

I had been toying with the idea of moving to Oceanside, but thought it would happen at a later date. A one-story home popped up for sale on a Sunday night/Monday morning, shortly after shelter in place orders had been issued due to Covid-19. After getting Steve's name as a reference, I called him and we set up a walk-through on Tuesday (this was also just prior to only virtual tours being allowed). We all looked over the house and, at Steve's recommendation, offered a price lower than what I had in mind. The offer was accepted! Between Steve, Zesty, Deana, and Jen, the process just flowed from start to finish. Our final walk-through had to be done virtually. Zesty set everything up and the seller walked us through everything he thought we might be interested in seeing, both inside and out. This was really the next best thing to being there. I know some people want to buy or sell without the help of a realtor, but with all the paperwork and other issues involved, I honestly don't know why. One little slip in paperwork and the deal could be lost. I have bought homes in the past and this, by far, was the most pleasant and enjoyable experiences I've had. Steve and his team are the best!
