The holiday season is actually a fine time for buyers and sellers to make their move. Here are a few reasons why.

Today I want to answer one of the most common questions we hear during the holiday season: “Is this a good time to buy or sell a property?”

In the media, you’ll hear that the market slows down and the holidays are really not a good time to get involved. However, there are actually a lot of opportunities out there for buyers and sellers.

Sellers are going to see a higher concentration of motivated buyers.

As far as buyers are concerned, there aren’t as many other buyers to compete against. When there are fewer people looking to buy, that means less competition and more opportunity for you. A lot of home sellers who list during the holidays have to move by the end of the year and will be more willing to make a deal.

On the flipside, sellers will see a higher concentration of motivated buyers. One of the biggest inconveniences for sellers during the spring is a lot of showings with buyers who aren’t 100% serious about buying. Those types of buyers aren’t around very much during the holidays. You’ll have fewer showings, to be sure, but they will be higher quality showings with motivated buyers.

As you can see, there are plenty of opportunities for buyers and sellers in this real estate market. If you have any questions for me or you’re looking to buy or sell in the near future, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
