Are you thinking of buying a home in Pacific Beach?

In this video, local resident and San Diego Realtor Emma Dearing give her perspective on what it's like to buy a home in Pacific Beach. She offers tips on what to look for, how to find the right neighborhood and more!

Just south of La Jolla, and north of Mission Beach lies a three mile stretch of sand that makes up Pacific Beach, San Diego. Extremely walkable, and with a classic, laid-back beach town vibe, Pacific Beach, also known as PB, is one of the more popular locations for both locals and tourists alike. It's easy to go surfing, grab lunch, and jump right back on the sand for a game of beach volleyball, all in one afternoon. Although this accessibility is great, it can draw bigger crowds.

So, if you're looking for a more relaxing day at the beach, I recommend going to one of the northern PB locations, like my personal favorite, Tourmaline. Tourmaline is a surfers-only beach, but even if you don't surf, it's a great spot to lay out, soak up some sun, and watch some great surfing. After a long day at the beach, you can keep the fun going at one of the many bars that PB's nightlife has to offer.

If you aren't sure where to go, I just recommend walking down Garnet Avenue, where there's a lot of popular bars, like Maverick's, Water Bar, and my personal favorite, Shore Club. Because the nightlife is so popular in Pacific beach, one possible downside of living in this area is that you may be dealing with noise into the early morning hours, even on weeknights. Of course, this problem improves as you move away from the popular streets like Garnet Avenue and Mission Boulevard. Pacific Beach has a wide variety of housing styles. So you can find the unique home that's the perfect fit for you.

This last year, the median sales price for condos in Pacific Beach hit $700,000, and the median sales price for single-family homes in Pacific Beach hit $2 million. Due to the layout of the Pacific Beach neighborhood, you're sure to have quick and convenient access to the beach, no matter what street you live on. So, if you could see yourself thriving in this neighborhood, reach out to me, and I'm happy to help make you a PB local.
