Meet Realtor Clayton Connolly

Hey, I'm Clayton Connolly. And I live at the beach, have four daughters, and a dog. I love hot yoga and surfing. And when I'm not selling real estate, I'm making music. I grew up in the small town of Lake Arrowhead, California and I loved just growing up within the community. And I think some of that element of knowing where and how you live matter has been influential in my desire to help people with real estate.

Grew up in the mountains and always wanted to live at the beach. So when the opportunity came up a good 20 years ago to move to San Diego, jumped at the opportunity and been here ever since. A perfect day for me is getting up while it's still dark. I love having quiet time in the morning just to reflect and meditate and plan. And that's a really nice time before the world wakes up. I end up after that going outside and breathing the fresh ocean air. And this year is fun because my goal is to learn the didgeridoo. Another element that would make my day perfect is going to work. And I work at Whissel Realty and I love what I do. I love guiding clients essentially to the process of identifying a goal, creating a plan on how to get there, and doing it. And I took the word Imagineering from Disney and that's what we do.

We just imagine our futures and how to go from maybe not owning a home to owning a home or how to buy and sell a home at the same time, all that jazz. So that's a lot of my day, talking with clients and helping them get from point A to point B. My why, why I go to work all the time, and why I love to help people really boils down to helping be able to provide a fun life for my kids. And additionally, even on a personal level, I love creating. And ultimately I want to be able to fund my imagination if you will. So for fun, a lot of what I do is hang out with my kiddos. With my girls, the sister club, as they're known, doing anything from the beach, SeaWorld, Dave & Buster's, trips to Baja, all that. I'm a hot yoga, a fishing auto. I love just the body, soul, and mind element of yoga practice and surfing.

And most importantly to me though is music. I think that was the first real love that came into my life before anybody else. And it's still there strong. And what the fun part is now is I get to make music with my kids. So I got into real estate in a less conventional manner than most people probably. You see, I bought my first home in my early twenties and somewhere in 2004, my house burned to the ground. My whole neighborhood caught on fire and I lost my home. And that launched my real estate career because I had an insurance settlement. And I thought, well probably the most responsible thing that I could do is to purchase more real estate. And then I realized, in order to purchase more real estate effectively why not become a realtor and not only help myself but help other people as well. And so, I've been doing it ever since. So I joined Whissel Realty Group pretty deep into my career. And one of the benefits of having been a realtor for a long time first is I have the ability to really look at different companies and different teams in the area and decipher who I thought would be the best fit for me. And they were everything that I was looking for in a group as far as just professionalism, support, camaraderie, the service. And just really raised my level of professionalism that I could extend to my clients.

And, you know, I didn't even realize until I was in it a bit that we actually have been the number one team in the area for a very long time. And I don't know why anyone would not choose to be on the number one team. But I get to have that benefit for myself and for my people. One thing that has always been resonant in my life is the fact that I learned, again from coming from a small town, that where and how you live really matters. And that's important because home is the headquarters for your dreams, essentially. And I really enjoy helping people, inviting everyone into that conversation, and learning why people want what they want. And it's really important because people want different things for different reasons. And I really like being able to come and hear what your desires are and help you make a plan to make it happen. It all begins with the free consultation where I can hear about your hopes and dreams. Reach out and love to take some time for you.
