East County, San Diego has a lot to offer. amazing food, a rich history, tons of community events and amazing people and organizations. I'm Kyle Whissel with Whissel Realty group, and this is everything east county.

All right, Alyssa, how are you today?

Good, how are you?

Good, So we're here at the new Tin Fish. This is something I've watched being built for a few years now here at Santee lakes. So tell us a little bit about it

So they have been building it for, it's been like two, three years, right? It's been a great addition and people love it. We get a lot of people who like, who are just walkers every day and they come just for us, even if it's just for a cup of coffee to sit out on the deck and watch, watch the lake. You know, I think that we've made a great, like, we're a great addition to the lakes and it's been really well.

What are you guys known for?

We are known for our Tin Fish platters. So like our three-piece fish and chips, That's our big one or our Kaboom shrimp appetizers, and our crispy Asian whole fish. Their whole fishes are a big hit. And our oysters. Lately, our oysters have been number one.

Oysters in Santee guys

I know, isn't that weird? Its crazy, you wouldn't think. But, yeah.

Okay. And then, so you guys are not just open to campers, but anybody can come and have breakfast.

Yeah, no, anyone can come in, breakfast, lunch, dinner And they're always here.

Yeah, and the deck, like the deck is so cool.

It is. It's so nice, and you get a great breeze. When you don't even, you wouldn't think, but yeah

Cool. Well, let's, let's go back in the kitchen, Let's check it out.

Yeah! Let's go.

So Alyssa, tell me about this branzino we're going to have today.

First, You'll see that she rinses the fish off and then she's going to scale it. She'll cut up the neck and then vertically on the belly down and then she'll gut it out. She'll cover it in flour, salt and pepper and then she'll fry it for approximately seven to 15 minutes, depending on the size of the fish. And then next we'll start on the sauce where she is going to saute garlic and ginger. And then once that's done, she'll add in soy sauce, the fish sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar, and then green onions.

All right, guys, let's dive into this. If you never had a whole fish before, you're in for a treat. This thing, I can't describe it on camera. You can't see it, but it smells amazing. The sauce that they put on this absolutely smells delicious. I'm sure it tastes just as good. All right guys, this is so tasty, that fish just completely melts in your mouth. It's got a nice crispy outside from getting fried. This thing is absolutely delicious. The sauce literally tastes as good as it smells. And you guys are looking for a cool place.
